Please read the following Privacy Policy carefully as it explains how your data is collected and used. This Privacy Policy should be read together with the Terms of Service found here. Definitions contained in the Terms of Service are specifically incorporated into this Privacy Policy.
SECTION 1 – DATA COLLECTION
1. How We Collect Information
1.1. To the extent permissible under applicable law, we collect information about Users of the App. This collection takes place when a User:
1.2. Registers as a “Job Seeker” on the App, advertising their Services on the App. This may include your name, identity number, address, email address, and telephone number, qualifications, rates, as well as your image and any personal information you disclose in your introduction video, advertising your Services;
1.3. Registers as a “Service Seeker” on the App, in order to search for a suitable Job Seeker offering the relevant Services. This may include your name, identity number, address, email address, and telephone number, as well as any other personal information in relation to the services being sought;
1.4. Complete online forms, take part in surveys or assessments, download any information, or participate in any other interactive areas that appear on the App, such as the Incentive or Referral Reward System;
1.5. Interact with us using social media; and/or
1.6. Contacting Peezjob offline, for example, by telephone, SMS, email, or post.
2. What We Do with the Information
2.1. When you interact with our App and register a profile on the platform we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, phone number, and email address.
2.2. When you browse App, we may also automatically receive and store certain personally non-identifiable information (“Log Data”). This Log Data includes your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address, browser type or the domain from which you are visiting, the site pages you visit, the search terms you use, and any advertisements on which you click.
2.3. This is information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system. For most users accessing the Internet from an Internet service provider, the IP address will be different every time you log on.
2.4. We use Log Data to provide you with the Services and pool it with other information to monitor the use of the Services, and for the technical administration of the Services. We do not associate your IP address with any other Personal Information to identify you personally, except in cases where we are asked to comply with a subpoena or other legal demand or where we suspect that there has been a violation of our policies, our Terms of Service and/or applicable law.
2.5. Location Data: due to the nature of the App, both the Job Seeker and Service Seeker will have to allow their location to be tracked within the App. This will only be used for the purposes of:
Determining Job Seekers within a Service Seeker’s geographical area; and
Providing the Job Seeker with the location that the services are to be rendered at.
2.6. Email marketing: With your permission, we may send you emails about our App, new products or services, our company, and other updates.
2.7. To the extent permissible under law, we use your information to:
2.7.1. Provide the Services as further set out in the Terms of Service. This specifically relates to the purpose of the App, namely in connect a Job Seeker and Service Seeker;
2.7.2. Manage our relationship with you (customer service and support activities);
2.7.3. Monitor, measure, improve, and protect our content, App, Software and Services, and provide an enhanced, personal, user experience for you;
2.7.4. Undertake internal testing of our App, Software, systems and services to improve their security and performance. In these circumstances, we anonymise any information used;
2.7.5. Provide you with any information that we are required to send you to comply with our regulatory or legal obligations;
2.7.6. Detect, prevent, investigate, or remediate crime, illegal, or prohibited activities, or to otherwise protect our legal rights (including liaison with regulators and law enforcement agencies for these purposes);
2.7.7. Contact you to find out if you would like to take part in any of our further customer research;
2.7.8. To monitor, carry out statistical analysis and benchmarking, provided that in such circumstances, it is on an aggregated basis, which will not be linked back to you or any living individual;
2.7.9. Deliver targeted advertising, marketing (including in-product messaging), or information to you, which may be useful to you, based on your use of our Software and Services;
2.7.10. Deliver joint content and services with third parties with whom you have a separate relationship (e.g.: social media providers); and
2.7.11. Provide you with location-based services (e.g.: advertising and other personalised content), where we collect geo-location data.
SECTION 2 – CONSENT
1. How We Get Your Consent
1.1. When you provide us with personal information via one of our online touch points (completing an online form, downloading the App and creating a User profile, engaging with us on social media), you consent to our collecting such personal information and using it only for the reason for which you sent it to us.
1.2. Where we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing or research, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.
2. How to Withdraw Your Consent
2.1. If you change your mind after you have opted in, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, collect more information, use, or disclose your information, at any time, by contacting us at:

2.2. Due to the nature of the Services, we are unable to provide use of the App without certain personal information. Accordingly, should you wish to withdraw consent for the storing of any personal information, you will not be able to remain registered as a Job Seeker or Service Seeker.
2.3. Disclosure: We may disclose your personal information if we are required to do so by law or if you violate our general terms and conditions.
SECTION 3 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
1. In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use, and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide us. By way of example, third parties that are utilised are Payfast, the payment portal for managing payment of the Services. Further, should you be a Service Seeker, your information will be shared with the Job Seeker in order for them to render you the Services. Likewise, certain information will be provided to Service Seekers regarding the Job Seeker.
2. Seekers are bound by this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service and are required to ensure they take necessary steps in as far as possible not removing any personal information off of the App, where it may not be secured. Seekers endeavour to take the necessary steps to take reasonable precautions in ensuring any personal information of the corresponding seeker is safely stored.
3. We may share your information with third-party platform providers (such as Facebook, LinkedIn Google, and Twitter) to serve targeted advertising / content to you via the relevant third-party platform, based on your profile / interests. Your information is used by the third-party platform provider to identify your account and serve advertisements to you. You can control what advertisements you receive via the privacy settings on the relevant provider’s platform and you should consult the third party’s help / support centre for more information.
4. Once you leave our App or are redirected to a third-party website or application, or share any other personal information with a Job Seeker or Service Seeker, as applicable, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our Terms and Conditions.
5. Links: When you click on links on our App, they may direct you away from our App. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements, however, where any third party’s are one of our partners, you can trust that we only engage with partners that have the necessary security practices in place, such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, and that any such third parties or operators are bound by the relevant agreements (such as a confidentiality or operator agreement).
SECTION 4 – SECURITY
1 To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.
2. We keep your information secure by taking appropriate technical and organisational measures against its unauthorised or unlawful processing and against its accidental loss, destruction, or damage. We do our best to protect your personal information, but we cannot guarantee the security of your information if it is transmitted to our App, Software, or Services, or to other websites, applications, and services, via an internet or similar connection.
3. If you provide us with your personal information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Although no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
4. All application servers and databases reside exclusively in Microsoft Azure’s South Africa North and South Africa West regions. No production data is replicated or backed-up outside the country. Records are encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2+ and at rest with AES-256, and Azure’s local facilities are ISO 27001 and POPIA-aligned. Regional redundancy within South Africa protects availability without transferring data across borders.
SECTION 5 – COOKIES
1. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from our App, Software, or Services and stored on your device. We use cookies to provide you with a more personalised service and to help make our App, Software, and Services better for you.
2. Our cookies may be:
2.1. Session cookies: temporary cookies that identify and track users within our App, Software, or Services and are deleted when you close your browser or leave your session in the App.
2.2. Strictly Necessary Cookies: These are cookies that are needed for our App, Software, or Services to function properly.
2.3. Performance Cookies & Analytics Technologies: These cookies collect information about how visitors and users use our App, Software, and Services. For instance, it can gather information about which functionality Users use most often, and if they get error messages from areas of the App, Software, or Services. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies a User. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. We only use these cookies to improve how our App, Software, and Services work.
2.4. Functionality Cookies: These cookies allow our App, Software, and Services to remember choices you make (such as your user name, language, or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personalised features. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for. The information these cookies collect may be anonymised and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.
2.5. Targeting or Advertising Cookies: These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement and help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. They are usually placed by advertising networks with our permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers. Quite often, targeting or advertising cookies will be linked to website functionality provided by the other organisation.
2.6. Web Beacons & Parameter Tracking: We also use cookies and similar software known as web beacons to count users who have visited our App after clicking through from one of our advertisements on another website or in emails. These web beacons collect limited information and does not identify particular individuals. It is not possible to refuse the use of web beacons. However, because they are used in conjunction with cookies, you can effectively disable them by setting your browser to restrict or block cookies.
SECTION 6 – CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon its posting on the App. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and / or disclose it.
